Chapters Transcript Video Advanced Robotic Surgery Techniques - Dr. Daniel Eun There are many patients who suffer from chronic conditions and they're being told by their local surgeons that they cannot be fixed. We see these patients on a regular basis at Temple. We have been pioneering surgical approaches using the robot to address many of these problems that have traditionally been left untreated robotic surgery excels at a few things, such as sophisticated motions in a very small amount of space with a lot less tissue trauma. Were able to get in there, fix the problem and get out of there with very minimal incisions so that they can have a quick and fast recovery. I can unequivocally say that the robot is a tool that we use on a regular basis to do surgeries that open surgeons typically balk at or do not want to do. Temple is really established themselves as one of the premier reconstruction centers in the world. Patients seek us out in the region for experience that is not found elsewhere. In essence, we're decreasing the risk and allowing more patients to undergo more surgical access, with much less complications and blood loss than ever before. And the beauty of it is that these patients anatomy are being restored and they're going back to having a normal life. They're able to get back to work and get back to activities and their hobbies playing with their kids. And that's great. Created by Presenters
